Africa has long been referred to as a place that nobody wanted to come to. Unless you were coming to 'save' the people. For many years we see images of African countries with so much suffering and so many problems. The reality is, yes, there is suffering throughout the continent. But, there is suffering in so many places in the world. There is also so much wealth on this continent. Just like there is wealth in many places of the world. There are people living here in Ghana, who have better lives than I did living in North America.
Stability and security in work is big news right now. With many countries revolting and protesting happening in the streets there is a big movement happening. People are tired of what's going on in the world. So tired that there are people, like myself, who have opted to explore the opportunities out there in places that one would never expect.
In the last 6 days I have been in Ghana, I have met people who left places that they expected to have a great life but have instead chosen to come to an African country for something else. I'm not saying that Africa is perfect but, I am saying there is opportunity that has yet to be tapped into. Some are already taking advantage of these opportunities.
But, if you choose to come, you must be prepared to be part of the grassroots movement. Be prepared to hustle and work hard getting through the system. It's not like what you may be used to abroad. It presents it's challenges because you may be used to something else. But, no matter what country you visit in the world, there will always be challenges due to being unfamiliar with a system of doing things.
